Biography

Robin Burgess-Limerick is Professor of Human Factors in the Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre, The University of Queensland.

Robin has been researching the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders for more than 25 years with funding from the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission, the National Health and Medical Research Commission, Workcover Queensland, Coal Services Health and Safety Trust, the Australian Coal Association Research Program and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (USA). Robin lead the team which developed and evaluated the PErforM program (2000-2004) which is now widely promoted by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and Safework NSW.

Professor Burgess-Limerick has published more than 100 papers, chapters and books, including the 2018 review paper in Applied Ergonomics titled “Participatory ergonomics: Evidence and implementation lessons” which forms the basis of this presentation.
